Open Source community site GitHub, which hosts just about everything related to programming on the Internet will become Microsofts Newest acquisition.
Hell, if you consider how much stuff for Minecraft alone is host on GitHub, Microsoft would easily be able to monetize this site with related ads.
As Microsoft is no stranger to spending big bucks, there is always a plan to recoup that money down the road.
This has much of the developer community in an uproar, but hey, as a developer myself, I was not financially tied to GitHub. Since 2016 GitHub has been bleeding money.
In truth, if they didn't get bought then GitHub would likely cease to exist in the future. People have got to start understanding that offering a "FREE SERVICE" in not free to the people who offer it.
It cost them tons of capital to keep it running and they were sinking.
